National Family Week is a celebration of family life in the UK, now in its second year. The Week involves thousands of record-setting, action packed, fun filled family events to encourage families to spend more quality time together and lead healthy, active lifestyles. There's also a whole host of special offers and competitions from some of the country's biggest family brands to help make spending fun family time together easy and affordable.
National Family Week is the largest coalition on family issues, bringing together a huge range of government and not-for-profit organisations to celebrate family life as well as an ever-increasing number of celebrities.
The inaugural National Family Week in May 2009 was a phenomenal success with families across the country enjoying over 4,000 events, from world record setting picnics to sports days.
Family is something we all have in common, regardless of age or stage, shape or size, belief or background, and yet in today's society 'family' is often taken for granted. National Family Week was established to bring family to the forefront of the national agenda.
This section includes a range of materials for press including releases and images plus highlights of the press coverage for National Family Week 2009.
National Family Week would not be possible without the support received from our commercial sponsors and media partners who provide the funding for - and increase the awareness of - the national initiative.
From the 31st May to the 6th June the UK will be celebrating National Family Week 2010. Find out about the week, including the different theme days, and how you can get involved.
National Family Week is run by Family Week Ltd a subsidiary of Henley Media Group, a small privately run company that specialises in publishing and events, primarily on social and environmental issues.
I am delighted to welcome National Family Week. It's full of practical ideas, and it will be great to see organisations from all sections of society join together to celebrate family life.
David Cameron MP, Leader of the Conservative Party
I am delighted to support National Family Week... By working with 4Children on the new Family Commission, I want to help ensure that families of all backgrounds and sizes get the help they need and are able to make positive choices about the future.
Esther Rantzen, CBE, Broadcaster, Campaigner and Chair of The Family Commission
My Family are the most important thing to me. I am so lucky to have such a marvellous wife, children and grandchildren... I think National Family Week is a great initiative that will encourage families to come together and realise how important every part of the family is.
Sir Terry Wogan, Radio and Television Broadcaster
My family, especially Beatrice and Eugenie are the most important part of my life and I try to spend as much time with them as possible. I believe the key to happy family life is communication; families should listen and talk to each other as much as they can. I fully support National Family Week and think it is a great way of bringing families together.
Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York
I really hope that National Family Week encourages people to take a moment to realise the importance of the people they have around them. Even if you do not have any direct family, friends and colleagues can be great sources of strength. I am in full support of this national initiative and the message that it is spreading.
Amanda Holden, Britain's Got Talent Judge
I would not have been able to achieve half as much as I have without my family support. With a strong family you can achieve anything. I think it is important to make time for family and spend time together, for National Family Week, and every week.
