Flagship event

Hull City Council are hosting one of National Family Week's 8 flagship picnics! There will be a range of activities on offer for all ages including den building, wacky woodwork, sumo wrestling organised by Hull FC, the fire brigade, scrapstore activities, a mini railway, african drumming workshops and Pet Respect.

We are also encouraging families to bring along their wellies to splash around in the paddling pool and donate them to the Real Aid 'Wellies for Africa' campaign, which is a local based children’s charity that supports a project in Sierra Leone to reduce the spread of parasitic disease, which spreads through the soil to the field workers. So please help us to help these families by bringing along your old wellies to the drop off points on the day, which also includes libraries, the prison family resource centre and all National Family Week events.

With so many fun and free activities taking place, it will be the perfect recipe for a family day out. So head down to West Park for a fun-filled Bank Holiday Monday.
