Hull City Council are hosting one of National Family Week's 8 flagship sports days, partnered with Hull City AFC. Families will be able to try out a wealth of fun based sporting activities including football with skills drills, tag and cubs rugby, sumo suit wrestling, cricket, cycling, kayaking, rowing and fishing with a special dads and lads competition. Play rangers will also be offering traditional playground games with sports such as hula hoops and egg & spoon races, plus specially adapted cycles for people with disabilities with be available. And don't forget to bring your bike as Humberside Police will be on hand to postcode cycles and give advice on cycle safety and security.
We are also encouraging families to bring along their wellies to splash around in the water park, take part in the ‘welly wanging’ competition and then donate them to the Real Aid 'Wellies for Africa' campaign, which is a local based children’s charity that supports a project in Sierra Leone to reduce the spread of parasitic disease, which spreads through the soil to the field workers. So please help us to help these families by bringing along your old wellies to the drop off points on the day, which also includes libraries, the prison family resource centre and all National Family Week events.
So don't miss out on one of the biggest, free events for families set to take place as part of National Family Week 2010.
