What happened last year?

During National Family Week 2011, partners from across the UK ran events and promoted their agenda during The Week, taking advantage of the strength of the national campaign. A few examples of their involvement include...

 

Market Harborough Library in Leicester invited families to come in their pyjamas and bring along their favourite teddy! The bedtime stories were followed with milk and cookies.
Make-A-Wish Foundation granted their 6,000th wish to Luke Taylor from Molesly. He made his film debut as a superhero in The Elementor when he shared the red carpet with Spiderman and signed autographs at the premier of his film to coincide with The Week.
Kent County Council fully embraced National Family Week and coordinated over 100 family friendly events in children centres, libraries, sports centres, museums and community centres.
Butterflies Children's Centre in Southport saw families attend a family picnic, take part in art and crafts session, bug hunt, and outdoor play activities.
As part of National Family Week the Taunton Association for the Homeless raised the awareness of the week and the importance of home by building a Lego Village with an array of different houses. Families got involved by building their own house to add to the village.
The National Literacy Trust launched their latest campaign, Tell Me A Story, to coincide with Family Week Story Time. To mark the launch they released results of a study of over 17,000 young people exploring family engagement in learning.
