British Rowing
Rowing is a wonderful sport for all ages.Young people aren't encouraged to take up the sport until they are secondary school age but once hooked many rowers keep rowing and even competing until they are 70 or 80 years old!
Rowing is often described as really 'addictive' and often turns out to be a passion for life. Maybe it's about being out on the water, the team spirit, friendships, or just belonging to a club and helping out. We have thousands of volunteers, often parents and grandparents of rowers, and their support is a really important part of rowing's success.
Recently at one of our 'Explore Rowing' clubs, Newark RC, three generations of the same family had great fun taking to the water in one of the club's new wider more stable boats. British Rowing is pleased to support National Family Week and we hope lots of families will discover the enjoyment of rowing together during The Week.
