The Friendly Club Give Thumbs Up To National Family Week
The Camping and Caravanning Club is delighted to be backing the UK's inaugural National Family Week.
The campaign coincides with The Friendly Club's very own National Camping and Caravanning Week May 30th – June 5th 2011. 
NCCW from The Camping and Caravanning Club is a celebration of the nation’s growing love of camping, caravanning and the great outdoors. Now in its 11th and most exciting year ever, it’s an opportunity for both new and experienced campers to get together and have fun.

Make sure you put NCCW in your diary – May 30 to June 5 2011!

The Big Pitch
This year The Camping and Caravanning Club are marking NCCW with The Big Pitch on Saturday 4th June. Supported by the whole outdoor industry, The Big Pitch is part of National Camping and Caravanning Week 2011.

What is The Big Pitch?
The Camping and Caravanning Club have got a theory. They believe camping makes you richer. Richer in mind, body and soul. So they’re inviting the whole country to spend one special night under the stars on Saturday 4th June 2011.

Let’s see if by camping as a nation we can get richer and feel happier, together, and to get the ball rolling, The Camping and Caravanning Club are giving away 1,500 free pitches.

We think you can’t put a price on the feeling of escaping your everyday routine and experiencing how great the great outdoors really is. It’s about the sense of freedom you get from having the stars over your head and grass between your toes. It’s your chance to go fishing with the kids, to try swimming with your partner, to cook a barbecue with the whole family, or whatever else floats your boat.

How can you join in?
Wherever you like, pretty much. Your back garden, your local park, the woods, the hills, the coast… any place you’ve got permission to pitch up is a great place to set up camp.

And if you choose to take part in The Big Pitch on a Camping and Caravanning Club or Forest Holidays Site, you could get the pitch absolutely free. Just register by May 6 for a chance to claim one of 1,500 fantastic pitches they're giving away.

The Camping and Caravanning Club would love to get a nationwide picture of this one amazing day. So when you register we’d like you to share your plans for the Big Pitch with them.

Let them know how you plan to maximise the richness that spending time outdoors with friends and loved ones can bring. For instance: Where are you camping? Who with? How are you planning to make it special? Are you doing it in fancy dress? Are you a first timer or an old hand?
