Coram
Children's development depends on a strong loving family and Coram is happy to be part of National Family Week. Families come in all shapes and sizes and we hope an initiative such as this will highlight the importance of the family unit in supporting our children and young people.

Coram has been working with disadvantaged children since 1739 when Thomas Coram established the Foundling Hospital which provided vulnerable children with a stable, secure upbringing and education. Today Coram helps over 6,000 vulnerable children, young people and their parents, working with the entire family so that their children can go on to lead a happy and fulfilling life.
With 270 years experience, Coram knows what children need. We work hard to find the best possible new families for children through our adoption service and provide parenting advice and support to many more families.
Our services include:
Adoption - working with some of the most vulnerable children in the care system, placing them in new loving homes. Our breakdown rate is one of the lowest in the country and we provide extensive pre and post placement support to all our families.
Parents' Centre - providing a range of support and advice to parents, including parenting programmes, helping many be the best parents they can be. Additional services such as music therapy enable parents and children to communicate better and families to bond and develop.
The Family Drug and Alcohol Court - FDAC is a pilot scheme providing an innovative approach to the problem of parental substance misuse and its impact on children in the family. The service helps parents who have drug or alcohol problems overcome their addictions and get back on track providing their children with a safe, healthy and enjoyable upbringing throughout their lives.
