Countryside 2010

Countryside 2010

'' Our countryside is the perfect place for families to discover new interests, new hobbies and to enjoy spending time together. I am therefore delighted that COUNTRYSIDE 2010 has been invited to be a Partner in National Family Week. We look forward to joining Partners and the public in this very special celebration of family life. ''

Enjoy a new view of the countryside

Fancy a breath of fresh air? Not sure what’s out there?

COUNTRYSIDE 2010 is for you.

Throughout South East England, organisers great and small are getting together to present a two-week Super Showcase of country-based activities and events taking place from 29th May to 13th June.

In keeping with National Family Week, the COUNTRYSIDE 2010 programme is planned to coincide with schools’ half-term to ensure that everyone can join in.

There'll be something to get the whole family up, out and hooked.

Activities range from guided walks and rides to bird-watching, boat rides or Going-Ape on a woodland high wire.  There are tours and tastings, introductory sessions for outdoor pursuits and open days at artists' studios, private gardens and farms. Details of country-based visitors are also included in the programme while special events will range from the BBC’s Springwatch Festival to folk music on the village pond. Amongst so many choices, there will be plenty that is free of charge.

Make the most of COUNTRYSIDE 2010 to get the most out of the countryside.  Dip into the Super Showcase to get a taste for a new family activity or hobby, to find new places to visit or discover new places to walk, eat, keep fit, take a break or simply enjoy the view.

You'll find lots more information about COUNTRYSIDE 2010 on www.countryside2010.org.uk.

The website has ideas for getting out and about right now and from March onwards, it will highlight yet more free, country-based activities which families can enjoy at any time.

The Event Directory for 29th May - 13th June also goes live on the website in March.
