Kids in Museums
We're thrilled that the the first National Family Week is being launched in Britain. What's so great about the week is that it recognises there's no such thing as one-size-fits-all when it comes to families. The week celebrates the richness and diversity of the families we all come from, and demonstrates that all of us can enjoy and contribute to our country's cultural heritage.

Kids in Museums is a young dynamic organisation, led by visitors and informed by a visitor's point of view. Our vision is that all families, whatever shape or size, will be fully welcomed in Britain's museums and galleries.
Museums up and down the country are striving to make everyone not only feel welcome once they have entered their doors, but able and eager to take those first few steps towards them. Kids in Museums supports, influences and drives this change.
The 2009 Kids in Museums Manifesto is a practical and powerful tool, compiled entirely from visitors' comments, to encourage and support museums and galleries around the country to make family visits more enjoyable and engaging. Over 50 museums have signed up to the manifesto so far. You can read the manifesto, sign up to it or contribute your family's views to the 2010 version on our website.
