National Children's Bureau

'' NCB's vision is a society in which all children and young people are valued and their rights respected. We are dedicated to advancing their health and well-being across every aspect of their lives through, for example, encouraging a positive and supportive family environment. We believe support for families is crucial to improving outcomes for children and young people and as such, NCB is delighted to be a supporting partner of this inaugural National Family Week. ''

About us

As a membership and infrastructure support agency, NCB hosts many single-issue or single client groups, networks, fora, councils and partnership programmes, and provides essential information on policy, research and best practice for the whole sector. We offer conferences, training and resources to guide practitioners and our members working with children and young people and their families. As a leading publisher in the children’s sector, NCB offers a range of accessible printed publications to support parents, professionals and children and young people, as well as a growing e-publishing programme.

NCB’s conferences and events are designed to inform the children’s sector about developments in policy, good practice, research findings and government consultations.  We are also a leading provider of training on a range of issues across children’s services.

The Library and Information Service at NCB is the largest collection of information on children and young people’s issues in Europe with resources on all aspects of children and young people's social care, health and education. It is open to visitors by appointment with free access to NCB members.

Our free network for children and young people lies at the heart of NCB’s work. We support our young members so they can contribute to decision-making while raising awareness of the issues that matter to them.
