'' The RSPB believes that every family deserves the right to a healthy environment, rich in wildlife, and to opportunities to connect with nature. We meet thousands of families throughout the UK at our nature reserves, Dates with Nature and other events. We are proud that we give these families such a great experience- fun, fresh air and exercise and best of all - the chance to enjoy each others company, in safe, relaxing, and friendly surroundings. We fully support the aims of National Family Week to allow families to spend quality time together and lead healthy, active lifestyles. ''

We’re convinced there’s something that we do that your family will love!

Nature reserves: "The five of us love it here. Amazing wildlife right on our doorstep and a wonderful atmosphere. A special place for all the family, including dads...." Think nature reserves are not for you? Think again. Your family can choose from over 150 RSPB nature reserves to visit throughout the UK, each offering a different experience- from unforgettable cliffs teeming with thousands of noisy puffins and other seabirds to beautiful bluebell woods bursting with birdsong. So whether you want to keep busy and active with our wildlife challenge, are desperate to see a kingfisher or a red squirrel, or just want a great place to explore together (with or without borrowing our free explorer backpacks), there’s a nature reserve for you! Our bigger sites have award-winning, eco-friendly visitor centres, cafes serving delicious local, homemade and fair-trade meals and snacks, shops with treats at pocket-money prices, baby-changing facilities, and short, pushchair and wheelchair -friendly paths.  Some even have natural play areas where toddlers and older children can let off steam. What are you waiting for? Visit www.rspb.org.uk/reserves to find out more!

Dates with Nature : "So refreshing to be welcomed and have time spent on us as a family." Our drop-in Date with Nature events bring seasonal wildlife highlights to cities, towns and holiday hotspots across the UK. You might get close to the fastest animal on earth – the peregrine falcon, or to Britain’s biggest butterfly – the spectacular swallowtail. Like our reserves, Dates with Nature have friendly, knowledgeable staff who can not only show you the best views of the wildlife, but also satisfy the most enquiring minds! Want to make a Date with Nature near you? Visit the interactive map on www.rspb.org.uk/datewithnature.

Family events:  We run events all over the country throughout the year, especially at weekends and holidays, from teddy bears picnics to bat walks to minibeast safaris - even  “teach a grown-up to pond dip”! For the latest on what’s happening near you, visit www.rspb.org.uk/events

At home: There’s plenty to do from home too. Our website has lots of great ideas for things to do and make.
