National Family Week is the largest celebration of family life in the UK. With thousands of events - as well as competitions and special offers – we’re encouraging families to eat, read, play, explore and get active together in the summer half term holidays.
A whole host of charities, community groups, councils, sporting associations and faith groups are supporting National Family Week, not to mention celebrities, politicians and family experts. Without their support National Family Week would not be possible.
We've trawled the web to find the most indispensible websites for parents - everything you need to know to enjoy a happy, healthy family life is just a click away.
From picnics and story times to record-setting sports days as well as HUGE giveaways, competitions and loads of special savings, there’ll be events for every family to enjoy in National Family Week.
The UK’s first ever National Family Week ran in May 2009. Families all over the country enjoyed over 4,000 record-setting, action-packed, fun-filled family events from story telling to sports days. The Stevens family were crowned the Family of the Year.
...I have always had a strong family support and I am so grateful to have had this... During this week, families in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales should get together and take time out as a family... I can think of no better excuse than a big picnic, or family feast to get everyone rounded up.
Sian Lloyd, Presenter

David Cameron MP, Leader of the Conservative Party
I am delighted to support National Family Week... By working with 4Children on the new Family Commission, I want to help ensure that families of all backgrounds and sizes get the help they need and are able to make positive choices about the future.
Esther Rantzen, CBE, Broadcaster, Campaigner and Chair of The Family Commission
I would not have been able to achieve half as much as I have without my family support. With a strong family you can achieve anything. I think it is important to make time for family and spend time together, for National Family Week, and every week.
Joe Swash, Actor
...With busy schedules, it can be difficult to find enough quality time to spend together, but it is this time that is the most precious and rewarding to us... We look forward to the UK's first National Family Week and joining families of all shapes and sizes in celebrating the treasured institution that is The Family.
